‘If Apple did it, why shouldn’t I?’ Samsung, probably.

Right…. Well okay if you say so. So you’re telling me that no Chinese brand ever let you down and only Samsung, Apple and Sony did? Right… So how come your experience is different from the most of users? How so?
Btw did you find out the sallary for your next job in arenaEV? You were asking them about that in public forum. Dude… Wth.. LMAO…
Well.. good luck with that

Because, it doesn’t happen in my LG phone or even my last Xiaomi, I can safely say its not related to Google’s stock Android 10-11 as such, correct me if I got it wrong.

Also, I somewhat disagree that a RAM’s role is to cache tasks only. RAM is related to everything that is being run at any time. This also includes foreground/ active tasks that the user i doing.
And from personal experience, I can say that better RAM enables better work at a lower level at least. As for extra RAM, let me just say it may help power users, the company must consider that not all users are alike.
So, no one can say that ‘XX GB of RAM is overkill”, except maybe a user (can say for himself only).

It’s probably why I didn’t mind iOS either as I’ve used EMUI and MIUI before it and both are very iOS-ish. My main issue with Xiaomi was annoying task killing and fact they update MIUI stuff and slap it on top of old Android foundation. So, unless you are using the latest model of phone per hardware, you’ll be stuck on the old version of Android underneath. Why? Why is this necessary? Just port all the phones to latest Android and latest MIUI. How hard can it be? Well, in Xiaomi’s case, very, because they just relentlessly spam new phone models to the market and make weird rebrands between Xiaomi, Redmi and Poco. No wonder it’s hard to maintain all of it in software then…

I really agree with you. It’s a serious heartbreak to support a brand , give it your all , only for that same brand to betray your trust. I’m beginning to believe spending our hard earned cash on flagship devices is not really worth it if we are not going to fully experience what the companies promise . I’m going to stick to midrangers or at most the “Fe” variant of the S series. I hate fraud.

But is true, Chinese brands offer the best specs at lower prices.
I actually wanted to buy the Xiaomi 11T, instead of the Realme GT Neo 2, but when I saw MiUi 13 on YouTube, lol. It looked so IOSish, with those widgets and control center.
Not that I don’t like IOS, I actually like it more than stock Android. But the fact that 1-2 years ago all Xiaomi fanboys were making fun of the widgets in IOS and now they copied in MiUi too, shows a lot about this company and its fanboys. No originality whatsoever and always talking bad things about other companies. They are the worse kind of fanboys.

I am more than 40 years old.
Had tons of phones since Nokia began selling here in Slovakia back in the 90s era.
Whether you trust me or not i dont care but please dont call me a liar.
Everybody can speak from his own experience.
No brand needs to be perfect.
The only brand and phone which never failed me and still working is a Vertu phone.

Samsung slows down or releases bad updates. But so does Apple. I experienced it myself on both Samsung phones and iPhones. The most recently on OnePlus 9 pro.
So yeah, no company is perfect. Just buy the phone you like most and you have money for.
But talking trash about one company in particular, when they are actually all the same, is just wrong.

This isn’t consumers looking for trouble, this is Samsung slowing phones down. I am sure they do this in waves to different phones with an algorithm and not everyone is affected at the same time, just like they roll out updates in waves. Strategic planned obsolescence is what it is, especially useful now with all the competition.

But I doubt there will be another diesel gate, I really don’t think that is the case and you simply see what you want to see in this. The S22 has the same thing (the game optimizing service), so did my Note 20 Ultra since day one. Its performance didn’t change a bit. Same with my old Note 9, it’s the same champ like before except in games – but those games did become more graphically intensive. But if there is the slightest doubt, the courts will decide, everyone in the US will jump on the opportunity to milk some money out of this – if there is anything to be milked.

This is not how any other electronic device / computer works. It can have 200 cpu cores for all I care, if they are not loaded to 100%, it makes no sense to even half the performance.

This is not intelligent throttling or power management. This is straight up fraud. They usually do this after 1 to 2 years to their phones. Those SoC have safety measures and sensors which they use with their own logic.

682146

At least samsung gives you options. You can set the thermal thottling differently in their Good guardians app. Just by 2°C but that’s not bad at all for a smartphone. You can also change the setting for killing apps in background to free up RAM in there. This was a regular complaint of people since the S6 where they introduced it but they did it because most regular people don’t close apps and just go to homescreen from them so their RAM filled up quickly, but in good guardians you can allow for apps to not restart from background and just run there. Samsung does these default settings for a reason and that reason is normal, non-tech friendly people who don’t really know how to handle a phone. It’s like when you give a gun to a person who doesn’t know how to handle it, it’s safer for the gun to not be loaded (okay, that’s an overkill example, but you get it). Apple doesn’t even give you options, they just force it on you. I don’t have a problem with samsung providing default settings that is good for most people as long as us tech-friendly people have an option to change it, which we do.
