Visitation Saturday August 20th 10 to 11 AM in the funeral home with
burial to follow in Stockton Cemetery.
Randall Hopkins, age 69, of Stockton passed away on August 13, 2022.
He was born August 30, 1952 in Oakdale, California to the late Lee and Arizona Hopkins.
He was a 1970 graduate of Stockton High School.
In August 1979 he married Linda (Gray) Burns and were blessed with one son, Tyler Lee.
Randall’s last two places of employment were with Superior Gearbox of Stockton and Pennington Seed of Greenfield.
In the ’70s and ’80s Randall enjoyed spending time hunting with family and friends. Randall’s passion for coyote hunting was evident as he spent many days and evenings looking for lost dogs.
He was a big fan of CB radios and still continued that passion to talk with several guys from the surrounding counties.
Randall developed a love for music at an early age. He began learning to play the guitar at the age of 13 and later developed skill in the banjo and keyboard. He played with several musicians in country and rock n roll bands thru the years. One of his most memorable and proud lifetime accomplishments was playing with the worship team for Church on the Hill. It was during this time he was able to pass on the knowledge he had obtained over the years to the younger generation. He accepted the Lord and was baptized at a young age and later rededicated his life as he and Linda were baptized together by Pastor Garald with the Church on the Hill.
Randall enjoyed spending time with Linda and the trips they were able to take on the Harley. He spent many hours with Tyler playing computer games while Tyler grew up in the home. Fishing became a pastime here recently with many calls, texts, and pictures sent between him and Tyler talking in general about fishing.
As a father Randall would always wait for Tyler to get home from his ball games to talk with him about how he played. These moments were lifetime memories for both.
Randall is survived by his life partner, Linda, of the home, their son Tyler, daughter-n-law Kyla, and grandsons Cooper and Casen of Neosho, MO. Additional survivors include 3 Sisters Janice Griffin of Bona, Mo, Corliss (David) Rivera of Camp Verde, AZ, and Gwen (Steve) Mierau of Bolivar, MO, brother-n-law Terry Gray of Stockton, MO and several cousins, nieces and nephews.
Those honoring his life by serving as pallbearers will be Tyler Hopkins, Rick Whistance, John Wilson, David Flint, Nick Bullard, and Sonny Nemo.
Randall was preceded in death by his parents, Lee and Arizona Hopkins, and brother-n-law Gary Griffin.
Visitation service will be held Saturday, August 20th from 10:00 – 11:00am at Bland Brumback funeral home of Stockton, MO. Burial will follow in Stockton Cemetery.
