“We regularly evaluate the price of Xbox Game Pass and Xbox Live Gold at a local level to best serve customers in each country. These price adjustments were informed and based on local market conditions in each country. This is simply a continuation of the price adjustments we made in select countries late last year,” said Microsoft in a statement.
Microsoft will be notifying users from today onwards (March 21), “beginning in April, we will adjust the price of Xbox Game Pass and Xbox Live Gold in India.”
What is Xbox Game Pass, Xbox Live Gold and Game Pass Ultimate
Xbox Live Gold – is the subscription service that one needs to used to play ‘Online multiplayer’ games with voice chat. If you own an XBOX console you would need an Xbox Live Gold subscription to play online multiplayer games with voice chat with your friends or random players from around the world.
Xbox Game Pass – Over and above the Xbox Live Gold, Game Pass gives subscribers access to many free games in addition to Day 1 access to AAA gaming titles. Subscribers also get monthly discounts and offer on games, collections, and DLCs etc. Game Pass subscription has three tiers
1. Game Pass PC
Game Pass PC gives access to a collection of games on PC and Laptops running on Windows Platform.
2. Game Pass Console
Game Pass Console gives access to a collection of games on Xbox, Xbox 360, Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S consoles.
3. Game Pass Ultimate
Game Pass Ultimate includes benefits from Game Pass PC and Console and also includes access to EA Play (includes access to EA games, rewards, and other members-only content). This tier also delivers access to Xbox Cloud Gaming (formerly known as xCloud), Game Pass Ultimate is best for users who have a gaming pc/laptop and an Xbox console with them.
